About this deal

Just try to keep the chills away when Louise gets a Facebook request from a "friend" who's been dead for 25 years.

However, revisiting ones past is the itch that we all seem to scratch, regardless of the often mixed memories and so Louise accepts Maria’s request with trepidation. Heavner isn’t exactly mollified when Tempe, aided by retired police detective Skinny Slidell and a host of experts, puts a name to the dead man. Her books FRIEND REQUEST, THREE LITTLE LIES and THE ANNIVERSARY, have sold over half a million copies in the UK and been translated into twenty-five languages. Maybe that had been the problem all along: Maria Weston had wanted to be friends with me, but I let her down. Although I spotted where some of the threat towards Louise was directed from and thought I had the answer all sewn up I was pleasantly surprised by Marshall’s sleight on hand and fiendishly cunning solution.

To keep her secret, Louise must first uncover the whole truth, before what's known to Maria - or whoever's pretending to be her - is known to all. Set in England, FRIEND REQUEST is the story of a woman named Louise, told in dual timelines: 1989, when she was a teenager; and 2016, as a middle-aged woman with a son.

I simply couldn't put it down - such a fast-paced, exciting thriller with some unexpected twists and turns. They immediately transported me back to my insecure self where it felt like one popular girl/dictator held my social life (which felt like life and death back then) in her well manicured hands.THE ADDICTIVE PSYCHOLOGICAL THRILLER THAT EVERYONE'S RAVING ABOUT - perfect for fans of He Said/She Said , The Couple Next Door and I See You .

But the pace of the book increased the further I read, as did my anxiety and feelings of unease and the desperate need for resolution and closure.Probably this is just my own limited empathetic skills preventing me from being able to fully appreciate the fear engendered by this contact from a girl believed dead so long ago, but it took me about half way through the book to appreciate that her paranoia had some grounds, and it wasn’t til the ending that I understood her and completely appreciated her fear. As the coffee machine hums its everyday tune, I half-listen to the news on the radio, which chatters all day every day in my kitchen: a sporting victory, a cabinet re-shuffle, a fifteen year-old girl who has killed herself after her boyfriend posted naked pictures of her online. Maria's sudden reappearance threatens it all, and forces Louise to reconnect with everyone she'd severed ties with to escape the past. Long-buried memories quickly rise to the surface: Those first days of their budding friendship; cruel decisions made and dark secrets kept; the night that would change all their lives forever. My Facebook circle is quite limited in comparison these days, I have culled the list of friends, but when I joined Facebook, I remember befriending people who I had not known much about (i.

The author was brilliant at keeping me guessing and it wasn’t until well into the second half I started to guess who the culprit was. These are messages that tell Louise that Maria knows a lot about Louise, her son Henry who is 4, and her business. So, what would you do if someone you’d gone to school with, but had sadly died years ago, sends you a friend request on Facebook? Memories come flooding to the surface of dark secrets kept; the night that would change all their lives forever.

And knowing the extent of the dominating relationship she had with him in the past, I don't understand why she's still all a-tremble in his presence. I’d also like to mention I am very grateful I do not have a Facebook account, and now I have one more reason not to!
