About this deal

With a delay range of 20 ms to 620 ms, this pedal covers most of the common delay applications, from slapback to shoegaze, and everything in between. The Donner Yellow Fall delay pedal is a cost-efficient and space saving pedal from one of the more well known pedal makers to come out of China in the past few years. Wir tun dies, um das Browsing-Erlebnis zu verbessern und um (nicht) personalisierte Werbung anzuzeigen. With the time pot set at 9 o’clock you can create a perfect slapback echo and the range up to 12 o’clock produces longer delays. I like things simple and this pedal is intuitive with a large enough breadth of sounds and delay times to satisfy me.

You could also go with a digital, DSP, based delay if you want something more than the basic analog delay. With only three straightforward knobs it's very easy to use, and I enjoy making spaceship noises with it. Messing with the time knob while playing can produce some great analog pitch-shifting fun, and there is good potential for feedbacking the delay loop into infinity and getting blown into outer space as well, which is cool as long as you don't blow out your speakers with the volume spike. By extending the feedback, you can use this fact to control the pot by hand and create a slight modulation, which normally is not included in the sonic possibilities of the Yellow Fall. One crazy thing I noticed is that it's pretty clear with my TS and my hand-wired fuzz, but when it's on with the big muff it gives some sort of massive treble boost.

If you put feedback on like 4 o'clock, not much after you play the note the signal goes batshit and it destroys your ears until you bend down and turn the pedal off whilst screaming like a little bitch. That being said, judging gear by spec, rather than by sound and feel, just isn’t the right way to go about things. I've never owned a delay pedal before so I can't comment on the Yellow Fall compared to other delay pedals or the pros and cons of analog vs. The aluminum alloy casing ensures touring reliability, and the True Bypass circuitry gives you a clear tone.

Like Donner‘s other offerings, the Yellow Fall has a full metal shell and it’s deceivingly heavy for such a small pedal that Donner claims can “fit on any pedal board (even yours! I have no concerns with the tidy yellow finish and I’m really quite impressed with the effort Donner goes through to include attractive graphic branding on their products. It also features true bypass that provides a transparent tone and an LED indicator that shows you the working state. Intonation is the measure of how in-tune the guitar string is across the length of the fretboard and a guitar with badly set intonation will get more and more out of tune as the string is shortened when you play.

Really small, and if you use those ultra-mini "cables" (which aren't really cables, but plugs), it can be for you to step simultaneously at two pedals at the same time. On an acoustic, the saddle is cut to the correct height making sure the bottom is 100% flat and straight. Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right. We do try to give a broad indication of the general condition in the description, but this is just a guide. The Donner, when on, does add a little of that digital delay brightness, but I didn't even notice it until I moved it onto to my small practice board. I have been playing bass in bands for over 40 years and enjoy playing guitar at home and wanted small delay pedal to use at home and in a duo side project I am working on.
