About this deal

Want to learn more about enrolling in the online or on-campus BAECE program at National University, or transferring your undergraduate credits from another college? However, arguably it isn’t a fully formed learning theory, and it has very little to say about how people learn using technology. It joins three elements: Ausubel’s theory of meaningful learning; the theory of multimedia from Mayer; and the study of software ergonomics. Harasim (2017) describes the ‘mechanisation’ of the instructional process and recounts the rise of learning technologies such as “teaching machines, programmed instruction, computer-assisted instruction (CAI) and, eventually, courseware and massive open online courses (MOOCs)”.

Lefrançois (2019) makes the point that evaluating theories is not always about assessing whether they are right or wrong. Consequently, numerous scientists, psychologists, and thought leaders have devoted their careers to studying learning theories. They explored whether knowledge and truth could be found within oneself (rationalism) or through external observation (empiricism).A chapter on Development (Chapter 10) teaches about the developmental processes critical for learning and successful ways to foster learning in students at different developmental levels. I understand that such consent is not a condition of any service and that I may opt-out at any time. The last four chapters in the text cover key topics related to learning: cognitive learning processes, motivation, self-regulation, and development. This approach emphasizes both learning about something and experiencing it so that students can apply knowledge in real-world situations. This book was used for my PhD program and I expected more descriptions and explanations of the theories and experiments.

The goal was to understand objectively how people learn and then develop teaching approaches accordingly. Discovery learning is a teaching strategy instructors can utilize to increase the engagement of and content relevance to students involved in library instruction. Deepen your understanding of these and other learning theories by enrolling in an online or on-campus education degree program.Special attention is paid to how these concepts and principles can be applied in today's classrooms. Educational theories have come a long way since the days of Socrates and even the pioneers of behaviorism and cognitivism. My choice of these nine theories stems from a synthesis of three major books on learning theories: Schunk (2020), Lefrançois (2019) and Harasim (2017).
