About this deal

I do have one partial floor plan, but the whole Great Hall/boathouse area is all wrong, as is the quad interior. But I’ve been re-reading the entire book series as well, taking notes anytime some aspect of the castle or its environs is described – after all, if you pay attention, you’ll notice that it’s a completely different castle. How can you create a blueprints book for Harry Potter and not have extensive images of the school exterior? So, bottom line…these things aren’t as precise as one could wish, and you have to decide which which sources to trust, and that can vary from area to area. We have all wanted to try and figure out how the evolution of the exterior progressed, how things fit together and to get a real sense of the epic scale of Hogwarts school.

The walkway along the east side of the quad exterior appears to have a single level, and the elevation is marked as (I believe) 220′. I took the mention of “classroom 11” to mean that there was some kind of numbering system for the classrooms, so I have marked these throughout all levels. I figured if I could figure out how Dumbledore’s office relates to Gryffindor Tower, and how Gryffindor Tower relates to the Room of Requirement, and how the Room of Requirement relates the marble staircase, etc. As usual, I’m striving for something of a happy medium, but weighted toward the main 1/24th-scale miniature. Ainda não tive tempo de apreciá-lo com mais atenção mas senti a falta de uma planta total do labirinto (última task) e da localização da taça do quarto filme e faltou também adicionarem a planta completa do Hogwarts, repartida nos diferentes pisos do castelo.

Spanning 287 extra-large pages — at 10” x 13”, it’s larger than many laptops — this book features over 350 technical drawings from the sets of the Harry Potter movies, including the iconic locations and even some intricately-designed props. For the first time ever, blueprints of the scenes and settings from all eight Harry Potter films have been collected into a stunning volume.

Many drafts contain precise dimensions and close-up views of prop details from every angle — including the detailing on the giant chess set’s weaponry, the minuscule silver finishing on Slughorn’s hourglass, and more. That’s all being put on hold for now, though – I just discovered more reference photos that are helping me fill in areas that were otherwise difficult to reconstruct. From the majestic Hogwarts Castle modeled after Christchurch to Professor Snape’s Cauldron, Hogsmeade Station, Honeydukes, and Hogs Head, the 260 pages of intricate blueprints and set production secrets invite readers on a magical journey. This means that the blueprint mod has a conflict or is not loading, it is not related to BP Apparate directly. K. Rowling's Wizarding World Movie Magic Volume 1," "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Movie Magic," and Harper Collins' "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them: Movie-Making News," a London Times bestseller. The areas closest to the entrance hall and Great Hall (GH on the right) were already feeling fairly locked in, but as you move further and further away, things get less and less certain. Harry Potter: The Blueprints is a must-have collectible for any Harry Potter fan, full of intricately detailed behind-the-scenes artwork that captures the creative development of the wizarding world. So while I don’t have any renders to share for this post, I think the next one will cover the link building and the front of the quad building! The training grounds tower doesn’t indicate the circle tower where it meets the Durham courtyard structures. This is where I started getting a little overwhelmed with this side project and stopped working on it.

Craig didn’t like the vertical extensions, because they were totally redone for the second film in a style that slightly foreshadowed the more Gothic look that would take over in the third film. I was surprised that there wasn’t another for other locations — there’s nothing from Diagon Alley, the Ministry of Magic, Grimmauld Place, Malfoy Manor, the Burrow, or Privet Drive — but it’s only a minor complaint. The design is based on the castle layout plan included in the book ‘Harry Potter: Page to Screen’, which represents the version of Hogwarts used in ‘Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince’.

Fortunately, I’m not as much of a perfectionist as I used to be, so I pressed onward, accepting the fact that close comparisons with the original Hogwarts miniature would still reveal small discrepancies. The windows look funny without nothing but sky and water on the other side, but that will be resolved when I enclose the other sides of the building. No idea why they included this door – nor whether it’s also present on the identical tower on the other side, though the extremely minimal photographic coverage of that area seems to suggest that it’s not.

All drawings, concept sketches, and designs related to the art and sets that appear in the 8 Harry Potter films will be unveiled for the first time. While the footprint of this part of the castle was indeed symmetrical in the original Sorcerer’s Stone design, changes to the adjacent areas in the third film necessitated shortening the area on the right that corresponds to Durham’s south transept. Be sorted, earn house points, take classes with our fine Hogwarts staff, debate which actor portrayed Dumbledore the best, and finally get some closure for your Post-Potter Depression. This remarkable collection showcases the work of the incredible artists who laid the foundation for the visually enchanting magical landscapes of the beloved films. While you (probably) couldn’t build yourself a life-sized Hogwarts just from the blueprints in this book, it’s an excellent starting point for recreating mini versions of the sets or even trying your hand at a Minecraft version. You’ll learn everything from where they sourced design inspiration to details about building materials to how the production team integrated newly-built set pieces with historic buildings for on-location shoots. Did you know they often had to build doors into open archways at the castles and abbeys where they filmed many of the classroom scenes? This terrain was carved out of polystyrene, with rocky outcroppings of plaster molded from slabs of coal.
