Magical Objects and Celestial Speech

Since Dee claimed to have received Enochian from the angels it is often referred to as the “language of the angels” and is believed, by some, to possess potent spiritual and magical properties. As an actual language, Enochian itself consists of an alphabet with its own series of 21 letters, sounds, and words. There are four Sephirotic Crosses on each Tablet. They are often referred to as Calvary Crosses. There is one cross in each sub-element.

Interpretation

Liber Loagaeth [d] (lit. Book of the Speech of God, also known as Liber Mysteriorum, Sextus et Sanctus [The Sixth and Sacred Book of the Mysteries], referred to by Dee as The Book of Enoch [1]) (1583) is preserved in the British Library mostly within what are known as the Sloane manuscripts, chiefly Sloane MS 3189 (but parts of Sloane MS 3188 and the Cotton MS Appendix I also contain the beginning and end of the book, with some copying of material in Sloane MS 3188 appearing in Sloane MS 3189). According to Wynn Wescott, each letter may be pronounced separately as its name in English or sometimes as the first consonant and vowel of its Hebrew name, e.g. N may be [ɛn] or [nu] (from nun). However, consonants-vowel sequences may be optionally run together into single syllables. E.g. ta may be pronounced [teɪ ɑː] or [tɑː]; co, [koʊ]; ar, [ɑːr]; re, [reɪ]. [21] Usually, showing an interest in such things during this time period would have been incredibly dangerous. But Dee’s expertise in mathematics and astrology lent an air of credibility to his pursuits, making him a respected figure in his time. Ye Lords of the Watchtowers of the East, ye Lords of Air; I do summon, stir and call you up, to witness our rites and to guard the Circle. [7]

The use of complementary colors, called flashing colors in the Golden Dawn, means that the watchtowers belong to the class of talismans called flashing tablets. The flashing colors were supposed to draw energy from the atmosphere. [4] The painted tablets were placed on the walls of the temple during some rituals to symbolize the four quarters. A favorite ritual in the Golden Dawn was the Opening by Watchtower. This is a preliminary ritual to purify space and call upon the guardians of the four quarters, which is the origin of casting the magic circle in Wicca. As part of the Opening by Watchtower, the practitioner uses the each elemental ceremonial weapon (air dagger, fire wand, water cup and Earth pentacle) to summon the angels of the quarters. In the South, for instance, the practitioner uses the Fire Wand to trace an invoking Fire Pentagram, then summons the angels using the three names of God found in the Fire Tablet: Quintus: The Angels of the Four Quarters focuses on practical applications of Enochian magic. It offers rituals and ceremonies grounded in the Angelical language and its symbolism. This book serves as a guide bridging the gap between mystical theory and practical implementation in esoteric pursuits.

John Dee, the Influential Occultist

I had a pivotal experience last year when, as I was doing the Enochian Meditation and experiencing the silence and tranquillity that the meditation bestowed on me, I felt the presence of God. This state didn’t last long, but while it did I received a spiritual message: I was told that sometime during the following week I would be given special information. Due to the loss of parts of John Dee’s original manuscripts, interpretations have arisen regarding the meaning, validity, and authenticity behind the Enochian language. Protect yourself. Before attempting any magical rituals, ensure that you have done some form of energetic protection such as a circle or shielding. This will help keep any negative energies from entering into your ritual space. The adept reaches various aethyrs through travel in the ast ral body, the mental body, and mystical states of consciousness akin to samadhi, a high state of consciousness in yoga that transcends thought. Some of the aethyrs have sexual energies. Many involve an initiatory experience, such as death of the old personality/ego and rebirth of the new. Although some doubt that Enochian is a genuine language, it has been Demonstrated that English can be translated into it. According to Tobias Churton in his text The Golden Builders, [7] the concept of an Angelic or antediluvian language was common during Dee's time. If one could speak the language of angels, it was believed one could directly interact with them.

In the year of 1581 through the extraordinary efforts of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelly, the secrets that were lost with the patriarch of the Bible known as Enoch were returned to those who thirst for the knowledge of Light. Dee kept close records of their intensive work. Although some of Dee's work has been lost, much of it is to be found in Sloane Documents 3188, 3189, 3191, 3677, and 3679. These documents are to be found at the British Museum in London.Central to the practice is the invocation and command of various spiritual beings. Dee's journals extensively detail their interactions with these entities, accompanied by the intricate Enochian script and tables of correspondences. They believed that these revelations granted them access to insights concealed within Liber Logaeth, often referred to as the Book of Enoch. [1] More than 100 large squares, each divided into smaller squares (2,401 in number), containing letters To figure out what the Enochian word for God is, I went through Dee’s diaries again to see what I might have missed. What I found was this: On Tuesday, April 10, 1584, when Dee and Kelley were in Cracow, Poland, they had another angelic communication, wherein the angel Nalvage gave the two men a tablet. On it was written the names of groups of angels and some short descriptions of them, which we’re not concerned with here. What we are concerned with here was something else written on the tablet in its four corners: IAD--the name of God.
