About this deal

This book felt like the tip of the iceberg to the series. Like the plot and idea of the book is good, but I know it can be better. Shain Rose is an author of Contemporary Romance and New Adult novels. She fights for love one word a time. Those happily ever afters can be difficult to get to sometimes!

She is trying to rekindle her connection with a bunch of dudes who prefer to believe the bad guys that imprisoned them over a girl they´ve litteraly grown up with. I thought the characters were all very complex and I was super impressed with the way each character had a level of depth, even though there were 5 main characters to examine. Typically, a few characters remain flat in these situations, but that didn’t feel like the case here. It ends in a cliffhanger (thank god it’s only another month for the next one) that I’m excited to see how it goes. I hope they all grovel at her feet forever imo. This is the first in a series, with book 3 coming out in February 2023. While it is a romance read, it is not spicy. It is very slow burn and the only sexy scene occurs much later towards the end of the book. I am not usually a bully romance reader. I tend to stay away from them as much as possible, because I am just not a fan. I will say, I did still enjoy this book. I had hoped for something a little more grander than the incident that kind of set everyone straight again. I thought Jacob's treatment of Riva for majority of the book was too much and felt forced. Even with this, I still enjoyed the book. I really liked Riva's character. She was very strong and put up with a lot of shit from these guys without ever faltering. The one sex scene that occurs was okay, I wouldn't say it was the spiciest I have ever read, but was written well. I wish there was a little more information on the "marking" that happened, but maybe it comes in a later book, since at that point in the story, the characters still did not know what they truly were. The reason for this she says is that it is never too easy to get a happily ever after between her feisty heroines and the alpha but aloof men they love. But she is now flying to the small town he calls home on her stilettos from the city just for him. She believes spending a month with the man while filming should be easy enough since she had been his personal assistant for years. I knew this was going to be a bit of a tumultuous read. Between Survivors Guilt, unrequited love and trying to protect Molly, you know Jase was never going to have it easy.

Rewards: Sixth Journey Cache (Contains late game resources, Nightmare Sigils, and jewelry), Slaughter Aspect (All Classes).Eva Chase has done it again! I predict the Shadowblood Souls series to be another of her hits. I devoured this first book in the series, Shattered Vow, in less than a day. It had so many of my favorite romance tropes, and Eva Chance does them so well. Note: Our suggestions on which are easiest to complete will be marked by an asterisk* for when you do not have to complete all of them. Chapter 1 The mmcs believe that she went against them, so when - years later - she is finally able to help break them out… they all hate her! (Cue angst ❤️‍🔥) I got recommended this series because I wanted to read something slow to medium burn without OW drama, and while this definitely does not have that. I didn’t anticipate that this story would fall under the bully category, because that’s what this is. Regardless of whatever false pretenses the men are under, they are really AWFUL to the fmc. Some more than others, because we do have some softies like Andreas. The way Riva’s feelings about the guys are written is SO GOOD!! I could physically feel the pain of rejection that she was feeling. Like the way it was described and her feeling like a burden to them, I felt it too and it hurt. (In a good writing kind of way lol)

I saw that someone said this book reminds them of The Bonds That Tie….. I mean.. maybe? The only similarities that I felt was that the guys in the RH loved and also hated her and that they were separated for four years while the FMC went through a lot. But anyway! But the bad was pretty bad, we are talking poisoning the fmc (I mean they are superhuman) and healing her when it gets too bad to prevent her from escaping. The story itself is pretty good, but I did want the fmc to be a little more aggressive with the men, in terms of her just letting them get away with soo much. This was told from multiple POVs but this first book was for the majority of Riva and her thoughts with just cameos from the boys. I would like to get to know them much better as I did think some individuals here shone brighter than others. Overall though I’m invested in what’s to come and this series has definitely captured my imagination. SHATTERED VOWS is a story of grief and loss, friendships and love, struggle and battling demons from the past. The premise is intriguing and engaging; the characters are colourful, charismatic and spirited; the romance is captivating and seductive. SHATTERED VOWS is a sexy, sensitive and edgy story of second chances and HEA. Molly was in danger from the very first opening of Chapter One. What surprised me was where the immediate danger was coming from. What a great way to start a book. And the emotional intensity continued because let's face it, Jase had an unrequited love for Molly, for years. Add to that, the physical danger starts to ramp up and it comes from a place that Molly would never have suspected. But that danger is absolutely real and potentially vicious. Because this person (a.k.a. John) is extremely violent and we see example after example of what he does to people who cross him. *Shiver*The Author Resource Round Table on Goodreads: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/group_folder/116489?group_id=26989
