About this deal

My biggest complaint, though, was the "Master Trent" thing. The entire time I felt like I was reading about somebody's inside joke, but never got let in on the details. Why did Sam dislike him? Mars was a captain in the military? How does a military captain become a butler? And Trent, the lead character, he felt like a caricature of a rich derp - like a bad Hugh Grant movie. Oh, and the Russian mafia thing was just dumb, and the subplot of drugged turtles felt like failed comedy.

Ms. O’Connor has created these and other characters who I’m certain will make you gasp with laughter just as hard as they did me. And her storyline is so convoluted (in such an innocent way) that you just can’t anticipate what is going to happen next. Please be aware that the delivery time frame may vary according to the area of delivery - the approximate delivery time is usually between 1-2 business days.I’m not going to try and summarize the plot because I’ll just get my synopses tied into unmanageable knots. Let me hop on to the characters. I think I have a love-hate relationship with Trent. He makes for a fascinating, unusual hero, and I can see why Carrie has fallen for him. There are a lot of reasons why I want to bash his head against something hard, but I can see the core of good buried deep down inside him, so I’m pleased that he gets his chance in book 4 of the series, “Climbing out of Hell”. As for Carrie, she’s simply awesome. No other woman would put up with what she goes through (willingly and unwillingly). She’s a gem that no man deserves, and I really need to read “Coming to Reason” to find out if and how she finds true love.

The man is so completely clueless it's incredible. I suppose clueless isn't quite the right word. Maybe, living in his own world is a better description. His thoughts and perception are extremely distorted, and he seems to see everyone as an enemy out to get him. Of course, he doesn't realize he's such a gruff ass to most of them. Carrie happened to see passed that and actually took a chance and got to know him. Still doesn't make him less of an ass, but he's an endearing ass where Carrie is concerned. :) This book was nothing like I expected. I laughed the whole way through this book. Liza O'Connor has written an amazing book with this one. This is not your typical rich boss falls in love with his employee. There is a little bit of everything in this book, but instead of the intense drama you get a muted version filled with humor. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down and I am sure everyone around me thought I was crazy since I couldn't stop laughing.

Trent and Carrie are amazing together. Trent thinks that he is above everyone because he is rich and dresses well. He constantly criticizes everyone around him. He thinks he should always get what he wants when he wants. He achieves this by yelling and threatening to fire everyone. I found the characters were drawn to achieve the effects Ms O’Connor wanted; for me, they all worked, though I would have been happier if Miss Coco hadn’t been quite so much of a… However, I expect to have to deal with her through the remainder of the series, so she’s doing what is necessary, too. Carrie is a bundle of happy, ‘get-it-done’ energy. She’s hard-working, competent and even gets along with her boss – most of the time. Carrie is a likeable character who puts up with a lot because she sees the best in everyone. She’s kind, caring and unpretentious. Her sweet nature draws others to want to help her or fall for her.
