It’s the album that gathered together highlights from the band’s first five albums and features the classic singles: the albatross that is Silver Machine and Urban Guerilla.

We can vouch for the longevity of Hawkwind having recently witnessed a striking performance in Manchester on their 50th anniversary tour (our review here). The Roadhawks felt even more comfortable which was a good sign. A feature I found which was important was that the grip underneath was much better and replaced the old one which I found slippery in wet conditions. The grip is the same as the Dynaflyte so this is a massive improvement from the last model. Better grip means you can run faster. So on to the review - first impressions they looked bulky like the old model but I didn’t let it put me off as the last model I ended up loving them and they were actually super light. The materiel/mesh around the shoe was different which allows more air to get into your feet, making them more breathable. The colour was pretty cool like the last model. So far they looked good.

The lushness of Wind Of Change evokes a sense of the trademark swathes of strings of the Moody Blues and leads into a finale of The Golden Void that speaks to us in a deeply cosmic swirl. I would also recommend that if you are changing to a new running shoe, especially one that is a different style, don’t go steaming straight out in them. Start off with some short distances at an easy pace to get your body used to the change in the style of running. I learnt this the hard way a few years ago when going out for a 15 mile run in brand new trainers. My achilles didn’t agree with that approach and I was side lined for 7 weeks. Not what you want when you’ve got some nice new shoes to use. I think the RoadHawks did slightly change how I ran. Previously I had been much more of a heel striker yet in the RoadHawks found I had moved to having more of a midfoot strike just behind the toes.
