About this deal

According to law enforcement officials, there are tens of thousands of gang members in the United States. Thanks to Charleston White’s crusade against them, police report that they have been able to identify and arrest many of them.

The tragedy for the victims family will be confounded because the murderer of their daughter, about to undergo a dramatic death at the hands of the state, is certain to draw media attention, which will carefully note what the condemned man eats at his last meal and his farewell words to the world - far more attention than his victim received." Though this wasn't my favourite book in this story I still did enjoy it but it was missing a little something and I just expected more from it. I love the way Giana writes her stories and I'm hoping the rest of the series is as amazing as some of the previous books. My list We had nothing more to say, except among ourselves, but from that hour every trooper in "C" company felt that Corporal Wallace was a doomed man, just as surely doomed as if a court-martial had sentenced him to death and the president had refused to interfere with the findings. You will say it was curious that we avoided him. So it was, and yet we could not but feel that he was a dead man walking about among us. We heard him speak, we saw him in apparent good health, we listened to his songs and stories at night, and yet every man who heard and saw and listened kept repeating over and over to himself:They swear allegiance to gangs such as the Bloods, Crips, Gangsta Disciples (GDs) and Vice Lords. ( Note: Some gang members are also talented rappers.) The movie conflates Pat Sonnier and Robert Lee Willie, which I think does a disservice to the moral complexity of the book. Sonnier, who expresses remorse and accepts responsibility for his terrible crime, who loves his brother fiercely enough to forgive him and (in a sense) to die for him, who is open to and accepting of Sister Helen's message. Who is enough of a man (unlike Willie, the narrative suggests) to drop his machismo and admit his emotions. Sonnier, who thanks Sister Helen for loving him, is just about the perfect poster child for her purpose. There is an interesting early instance of the wording used in the sense of "man doomed to die" (although not following conviction of a crime). From " A Soldier's Doom: The Horrible Result of a Bite from a Mad Horse," in the [Monmouth, Illinois] Warren County Democrat (January 17, 1895):

The phrase is later used by Stephen King in The Green Mile (1996). Given King's popularity as a novelist, this may be part of the reason it is now widely current. (King's novel was where I first encountered it myself.) Robert Willie’s mother. A hardworking woman, she has a terrible time dealing with her son’s execution. Robert Willie

The way they dress . . . Most gangstas are fake. They don’t live the glamorous life portrayed in the videos.
